Artist Information Sheet

Artist                           Afrika Midnight Asha Abney

Artist Statement         Art is an important expression of life that documents the thoughts, experiences, and traditions of an individual.  Art is the power to create a specific piece using various materials hightened by tone, volume, depth, and definition.  Art is the tool for healing the mind, body and spirit. Art is the colors that glow upon the eyes of both the artist and the viewer. Art is the beauty of the human eye.

The artist frequently is engaged in a dual relationship: one with the materials used for creation; the other with the perceived audience. Allowing the audience to gather its own perspective and to find its own story.

I believe it is truly a blessing to be an artist.

For Art comes natural to me.

Being An Artist

Being An Artist

by Afrika Midnight Asha Abney

Being an artist takes a lot of patience, honor, commitment, and dedication to the practice of the arts. The key elements and qualities that generally some people forget or fail to complete is believing in themselves! If one believes in themselves, then one can achieve with gratification of mainstream society!

Being an artist sometimes means soaring high with the stars or trying a new approach to conveying the message. The role of the artist is to communicate to society through representation or non-representational forms using art as the vehicle for expressing feelings or views.

Being an artist means flowing with the dynamics of everyday living and lifestyle. As for me, being an artist is my mission to the world, to open their eyes to new evolution of culture and love all forms of art and traditions.
